BODY TRANSFORMATION COURSE AT RUDDING PARK

New  – Body Transformation Course JANUARY 2018


Following the success of the first Body Transformation Course at Rudding Park Hotel in Harrogate, places are now available for a five week course in January 2018! A New Year, a new you!!

There are some great Facebook promotions out there with some brilliant photos of sculpted abs and promise of “metabolic workouts” that will “shred fat” “melt fat” and in once instance I read “make your fat disappear!”. Often the photos are of twenty something year olds or fitness models and people are attracted to them as they think they will end up looking like them! (I have been offered 20 airbrushed photos by a web designer to promote this course…..NO THANK YOU!)

With 25 years experience in the fitness industry, I have decided to finally put my own course together….but not an online course; this is a course where you will meet and speak with me personally. We will exercise together…. I will show you the correct technique for all of your workouts and show you alternatives if you are unable to perform them, after all, not everyone can do a burpee! Over the five weeks I will educate you….. I will give you the latest up to date nutritional information, I will show you how to train harder and smarter (not everyone has an hour to train three times a week). I will tell you about ‘metabolic workouts’ that will leave you burning calories 24 hours after you have exercised; we will look at why you need fat in your diet if you are to lose weight (yes, not all fat is bad for you)! We will look at hormones and how they affect your ability to lose weight. We will visit the fitness studio and the gym and work together so that you get results. You will be given all the knowledge and tools to transform your own body. You will be given the motivation and education to make long lasting changes that if implemented, will bring life changing results. This is very different from bootcamp that only includes physical exercises.

50 minutes of exercise in fitness studio or gym

40 minutes of education in cinema room

Use of changing rooms / steam rooms

Busy Women Fitness Website Update

Busy Women Fitness website is going to have a professional make over for 2018 so watch this space. My plans for the future of Busy Women Fitness is to add an extra evening bootcamp, a mum’s and kids bootcamp and a FREE bootcamp to various sections of the community e.g.. those that are clinically obese and don’t know where to start exercising and classes for seniors. These will be in six week blocks and the target audience will change each half term. There will also be nutritional advice as you can’t outtrain a bad diet!

Busy Women Fitness has been established for six years now and has a loyal following of Weetwood / Leeds community members as well as a few new faces each week. The introduction of the mum’s and kids bootcamp at Moorlands School throughout the Summer and Autumn terms has continued to be popular and this will expand with the introduction of new equipment and attendance incentives.

I would also like to be involved with  ‘Leeds Girls Can’ as I think this is a great idea to introduce more women in to physical activity.

Although the website has been defunct for a year, hopefully this will change with some professional help and you will be able to use it to gain useful insights into both health and fitness to help transform your body and mind.

EVENING BOOTCAMP AT MOORLANDS SCHOOL, LEEDS 16

Busy Women Fitness Bootcamp will now run four times per week after the Easter holidays! There will be the usual Monday and Friday morning sessions at Sports Park, Weetwood from 9.20am commencing Monday 11th April, plus two evening sessions at Moorlands School!

The Moorlands School sessions will take place every Tuesday and Thursday  from 7.30pm-8.15pm, commencing Tuesday 19th April 2016. The cost is just £5 ‘pay as you go’.

IMG_1275Each session will take place outdoors. There is something for everyone! If you can’t run, jog! If you can’t jog, walk! If you can’t burpee, squat! All exercises can be adapted to suit all ages and abilities! The exercises consists of body weight exercises, boxing and dumbbells. Strength training is a really important part of fitness, particularly in older ladies to prevent osteoporosis.

Studies performed by Wayne Westcott, PhD, from the South Shore YMCA in Quincy, Massachusetts, found that the average woman who strength trains two to three times a week for two months will gain nearly two pounds of muscle and will lose 3.5 pounds of fat.

As your lean muscle increases so does your resting metabolism, and you burn more calories all day long. Generally speaking, for each pound of muscle you gain, you burn 35 to 50 more calories each day. That can really add up.

Researchers also found that unlike men, women typically don’t gain size from strength training, because compared to men, women have 10 to 30 times less of thhormones that cause muscle hypertrophy. You will, however, develop muscle tone and definition. This is a bonus.

“WHATEVER THE WEATHER, WE’RE IN IN TOGETHER”

IMG_6994 This term has seen bootcamp performed in all weathers… driving rain, clear blue skies as well as snow and hail! However, the turnout has been amazing! Thank you to all the ladies who continue to attend and support the Busy Women Fitness Bootcamp! It is a community bootcamp where you come to work out, burn fat, tone up and meet friends, the latter being very important! We only have one week left until Easter but there will be more opportunities to improve your fitness once the schools’ go back with extra days and times added! Enjoy the break!

BOOTCAMP 2016

Happy New Year! Hope you’ve all had a good Christmas and are ready to return to Bootcamp!

Our first session will be ‘Pay As You Go’ (PAYG) on Friday 8th January 2016, at the reduced rate of £5. Bring a friend and you go free!

Bootcamp will then be every Monday and Friday and the occasional Wednesday, starting Monday 11th January 2016 until the end of term on Friday 12th February 2016 at 9.20am at Sports Park, Weetwood, Ring Road, Leeds, West Yorkshire, LS16 5AU (near Weetwood Hall and The Stables Pub)

One session per week is only £3o, a saving of £12 on the PAYG price! Two sessions costs £55, saving you £15

“Whatever the weather, we’re in it together!” Come rain, wind or snow…. bootcamp will be on! We now have an under cover area at the Pavilion, Sports Park, Weetwood so wrap up warm, wear gloves and bring your water bottle!

Benefits of Outdoor Exercise:

1. You burn more calories when you exercise outside

Resistance from the wind when running or cycling outdoors means you often burn more calories than if you were indoors,” says Simon Cowen, Fitness First PT Ambassador. “And slopes and uneven ground make your body work harder as it has to respond to the unknown,” he adds.  As the body works harder to regulate its core temperature among the elements, you’ll burn a few more calories during your wintry workout compared to one conducted indoors. So, basically, doing nothing different but taking your workout outside makes it LOADS more effective.

2. Outdoor workouts are awesome for your mood

Numerous research shows a clear connection between spending time outdoors and a reduction in stress. Plus, fresh air and increased oxygen helps release the feel-good brain chemical, serotonin – meaning your outdoor training sessions not only help keep you fit and healthy, they put you in a fantastic mood too!

3. The people and the weather actually stops you getting bored!

The beauty of exercising outdoors is the space you’re in. Being outside in different weather conditions means you have a lot to look at! Exercising with other like minded ladies also creates friendships, so you can share life experiences and you’re less likely to get bored!

4. You can tone your whole body!

At Sports Park, Weetwood, we are exposed to hills and flat terrain. Hill running  is a great way of getting maximum results, particularly as running or for some, sprinting is one of the most effective ways to burn fat. Short, sharp bursts of movement at an incline will help push you to the limit while also building and toning muscle. If you are unable to run then walking with effort will also help you burn lots of calories! All the exercises can be adapted to suit any age, fitness or condition! In addition, we use weights and boxing to tone the whole body!

COUNTDOWN TO CHRISTMAS 2015

SIX WEEKS OF BOOTCAMP TILL CHRISTMAS!

Wow! Where has the time gone! We only have six weeks of bootcamp until we break up for Christmas!!

Bootcamp this term will run from Monday 9th November until Friday 18th December 2015. Bootcamp will be every Monday and Friday with the occasional ‘Pay As You Go’ (PAYG) Wednesday!

One session per week is only £32, a saving of £10 on the PAYG price!

Two sessions per week is only £65, saving you £19 on the PAYG price!

If you choose the PAYG option, then each session is £7

You are more likely to attend if you pay in advance!!

Bootcamp is at Sports Park, Weetwood, just off the ring road, near Weetwood Hall and the Stables Pub, Leeds

“Whatever the weather, we are in it together”, which means that Bootcamp never gets cancelled due to adverse weather conditions! Mental toughness is required although we must be ‘going soft’ as we now have the option of an undercover area if it’s raining!

A NEW AND FABULOUS YOU IN 2015

Hello ladies,

Welcome back to Bootcamp 2015! Hope you’ve had a great Christmas and New Year! The holiday is now over and it’s time to work on fitness and fat loss for a new and fabulous you in 2015! New boxing gloves, pads and skipping ropes arrive this week so they can be added to our current weight training and high intensity interval exercises! We will start gently and build up so don’t worry if you’ve lost your fitness or feel sluggish! Just come along and I will provide you with all the motivation you need for you to leave feeling energised and worked. It’s also a great social group!

Bootcamp is every Monday and Friday at Leeds University Sports Park, Weetwood, just off the ring road.

‘Pay as you go’ is £7 per session but you can save ££££ by block booking. One session per week for six weeks is only £35, two sessions, £70. Students pay just £5 per session.

Remember “whatever the weather, we’re in it together” so Bootcamp is never cancelled due to poor weather! Check out some of the photos below!
